Scapa Flow ‘09 YouTube Video

Map picture

First off...Apologies... my little camera is very low Tec... no fixed lighting, no special lenses and no ballast system. Had to dive with the camera held just in my right hand. Unfortunately the resolution does not do justice to the actual splendour of these wrecks. This shortcoming is really amplified by the lack of lighting, especially while penetrating the inside of the wrecks.

On the plus side; for a guy just diving through a wreck (& avoiding obstacles) by holding a very basic basic camera lose in his right hand... the composition is not bad. Wrecks featured in this video are the Coln and the Brummer. Unfortunately as YouTube has a 10 minute limit many other wrecks hit the ‘cutting room floor’. I do hope you enjoy this video… I certainly enjoyed the dives while making it :)

I would also like to thank my dive Buddy Colin McBride… He was diving in Diver 1 position, I was Diver 2… so Colin features quite heavily in the main dive sections within the video (he is in front of me). A great dive buddy with a fantastic instinct for navigating a ships internal super structure – thanks Colin.

Finally I dedicate the opening song on this video to my wife Jasmine for her love and support – without her I would not be able to achieve anything. Mike.
